Spring and warmer days are upon us. It is time to motivate and get your body moving. Many people who follow me know that training at Durniat Strength is different than anywhere else in the world. We incorporate kettlebells, sandbags, ropes, bodyweight exercises, agility drills, along with dumbbells and barbells. These can be intimidating to most at first, but once you experience the training and feel the sweat of accomplishment, you are changed. Suddenly anything is possible, fear is replaced with thoughts of what else can I do.

This Saturday, May 7, between 10am and 5pm, I encourage you and anyone you know to come to Durniat Strength to experience movement and exercise like never before. Meet trainers Josh McDonald and Andrew Durniat. Learn to strengthen weak areas, work on flexibility and train with battling ropes and kettlebells like you’ve seen on the TV show ‘The Biggest Loser’.

Come anytime this Saturday for a one-day special of $5 per half hour of training. Bring your friends and train together. Now is the time to break out of the winter time funk.

I traveled down to Shreveport, Louisiana via Baton Rouge and Matt Vincent’s home for the Shreveport Highlander. What drove me to this highlander was the inclusion of an Elite division and the opportunity to compete against some of the best highland games/strength athletes around.

I managed 4th place overall. An excellent placing in this group of athletes and myself being 50 lbs. lighter than the next lightest, Matt Vincent at 280 lbs., everyone else was over 300 lbs.

The local news was on hand and did a great bit for the evening news.
